Meet the Principal

Dear Sobesky Academy Families, Students, and Community,

I am thrilled and honored to welcome you to Sobesky Academy! As an educator and leader, my commitment is to ensure every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their personal and academic potential.

I bring over 15 years of experience in special education, mental/behavioral health, and educational administration. I joined Jeffco Schools in July 2021 as an Assistant Director of Special Education assigned to Jeffco’s Alternative Education Campuses (AECs), including Sobesky. Most recently, I served as a Director of Special Education here in Jeffco. Prior to my time in Jeffco, I was a School Director and Regional Director of separate school programs, like Sobesky, in Connecticut, Illinois, and Colorado.

My educational philosophy centers on whole-child support, positive behavioral interventions (PBIS), and strong partnerships between home, school, and community. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Loyola University Chicago, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Boston University, and completed my Administrator Licensure through the University of Northern Colorado.

Outside of school, I love rock climbing, skiing and hiking Colorado’s 14ers.

At Sobesky, we are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic learning environment where every child can grow. I look forward to partnering with our incredible staff, students, and families for a fantastic school year!

Warmly,

Sarah Fournier

Principal
